Upcoming opportunities to see Gillian's artworks

See my work on
Herring Island in January (2012) and then I hope to show with the ASV at the Melbourne Flower and Garden Show (MFGS) and the Toorak Village exhibition for which I am in the process of making a bronze.
My work "Caressed by the Breeze" will feature at
Sculpture on the Stream'
an exhibition presented by the Association of Sculptors of Victoria [ASV]
opening 12-2pm on 14 January.
The exhibition is open from 11:30am to 4:45 pm each Saturday and Sunday

Cr. John Chandler, newly elected Mayor of Stonnington will open the sculpture exhibition and launch the 2012 Herring Island Summer Arts Festival on Saturday 14th January at 12noon.
An exhibition of smaller sculpture reflective of the Stream - the sculptors' life.
Demonstration events will occur during the show, and the exhibition will be “sat” by the exhibiting artists – so this will be a great time to see their latest work and talk to them about their inspiration.

After the exhibition closes, images of the works will be on the ASV web site in the exhibitions section. NOTE: The gallery will close at 4:00pm on Sunday 29th January so please come early on our last day.

Mansfield Easter Show

Without Pier Gallery logo

Without Pier Gallery is holding an exhibition in Mansfield Victoria over the Easter Period. Last year it was just for the holiday weekend but this year it has been extended to 10 days. This is a busy tourist time for Mansfield as it is on direct route to My Buller and the High Country. Thousands of people visit the very busy Market in the main street outside the gallery over the holiday weekend. I have been fortunate to be accepted and I am entering 4 paintings of the high country around Mt Buller 2 large and 2 small.

HERRING ISLAND- Sculpture Assosiation

Again the Association of Sculptors is holding an exhibition on Herring Island . This has become an Annual event and is part of the Summer Art Festivall on the island. I will be exhibiting 2 works, “I’M BRACING THE ELEMENTS” and “ BEFORE THE STORM”.

Invitation below.

POSTCARDS FROM OZ at Without Pier Gallery

POST CARDS FROM OZ at WITHOUT PIER GALLERY Is an Exhibition of paintings by the gallery’s selected artists. All paintings exhibited are 30 x 30 cms or 40 x 40 cms.

I have entered 6 works and the exhibition looks fantastic with a huge variety of works. The Exhibition runs throughout December 2009.

The exhibition closed early in the new year without sale of my works but they will remain at the gallery for sale. Also at the gallery is a selection of my sculptures

HYBRID-Sculpture 2009

HYBRID Sculpture 2009 opened at Toyota Community Spirit Gallery Bertie Street, Port Melbourne On 7th October and runs until March 2010. This is the 5th Annual Indoor Outdoor Sculpture exhibition. I felt very honoured to be chosen to exhibit in this exhibition among some very accomplished sculptors. Below is the entry in the catalogue for this exhibition

Sculpture Among the Tulips

This is the second year that the Association of Sculptors has taken part in the Tulip Festival at TESSELARS TULIP FARM. The work that I exhibited was “EMBRACING THE ELEMENTS” It is an exciting piece full of vitality and expresses a certain joie de vivre. While there are many struggles, this piece demonstrates the embracing of all things good that life has to offer.

ASV Annual Exhibition at Manningham Gallery

You can view two of my cold bronze sculptures at The Association of Sculptors Victoria’s Annual Exhibition and Awards at the Manningham Gallery 699 Doncaster Road in Doncaster.

The work promises to be varied and visitors to the exhibition will see the diversity of style, medium and techniques in the work of both emerging and proffessional sculptors.

The Exhibition is the highlight of the exhibiting year for the Association and a culmination of a years work when members are acknowledged and encouraged by the presentation of awards.

The Exhibition will open on Wednesday 15th July at 6pm with music and light refreshments.
